Depending on your order, your lighted mirror may or may not be dimmable. Orders through the residential channel receive dimmable LEDs as a standard which may be dimmed with a 0-10V dimming switch.
The level of brightness from a mirror will first depend on the size of the mirror, because, typically larger mirrors produce more light. Medium and large Silhouette and Integrity Lighted Mirrors have lights on all four sides which produce more light than styles with just two light strips, such as the Novo or Fusion. Another factor is “wall glow” or “enclosed chassis.” For example, the enclosed chassis of the Integrity™ channels all light out the frosted perimeter of the mirror, making it very bright, whereas the wall glow effect of the Silhouette loses brightness, but gains ambiance.
3000 Kelvin is our standard color temperature, which we recommend for bathroom use.
Typically we would not recommend using a Lighted Mirror as the only source of light in a bathroom. We recommend having overhead lighting in addition to Lighted Mirrors to create ideal conditions.
Electric Mirror is the leader of Mirror TV technology and has designed a 15.6” and 21.5”water resistant 1” thin TV that is approved for installation in the bathroom, while 32” and larger TVs are typically manufactured by Samsung.
These are three different types of Mirror TV glass technology. Spectrum uses a typical mirror reflection, and 99.9% of the TV brightness shines through when the TV is on. With Spectrum, when the TV turns off, only the TV area becomes a darker reflection so you can see a subtle shadow where the TV is located. Iris® has a darker mirror reflection and allows the TV to mostly vanish, but still allows the TV to shine through the TV area much better, and reduces the glare so the TV can be seen well even in bright environments.
Spectrum is used most often for bathroom Mirror TVs so the mirror can be used for makeup and shaving. Iris® should be considered as an upgrade for those OK with a darker reflection that really want the TV to vanish when off, and for spaces like the living room, guestroom, and above a fireplace.
- The best and safest cleaner for a mirror is clean, warm water used with a soft cloth. Be careful not to allow the edges of the mirror to get or remain wet over a period of time.
- If using a commercial glass or mirror cleaner, be sure to use a standard brand of glass or mirror cleaner that does not contain ammonia or vinegar. Do not use Windex.
- Never spray any cleaner directly on to a mirror. Instead, apply the cleaner to a soft cloth and then wipe the mirror.
- Always use soft, grit-free cloths when cleaning a mirror to reduce chances of scratching the surface.
- Be sure to dry all joints and edges thoroughly to be certain that no commercial cleaner comes in contact with the edges and backing.
To access the lamps, lift the mirror straight up ½” to clear the mounting tabs. Then pull away from wall.
Many of our Lighted Mirrors use a T5 fluorescent lamp. To change it simply lift the mirror surface up and off the chassis to gain access to the lamps. Make sure to place the mirror on a soft surface to prevent chipping edges. Once the mirror surface is removed, lamps are easy to replace.
Mirrored Cabinets use LEDs that cannot be easily replaced, so a new door is required.
Most Lighted Mirrors use T5 fluorescent lamps that are rated for 35,000 hours and can be expected to last eight years or more depending on usage. Oval and round Lighted Mirrors with 55 watt Circline T5 fluorescent lamps (such as the Trinity 21×30, Trinity 30, Integrity 21×36 and Integrity 18×44) are rated for 15,000 hours and can be expected to last two years or more depending on usage.
Mirrored Cabinets use LEDs that are rated for 50,000 hours and can be expected to last 10 years or more.
Yes, Electric Mirror can either have the current TV returned to be fixed and returned, or a replacement TV be sent with the original returned to Electric Mirror. If the TV is still under warranty there is no charge.

Almost every fine hotel in the world! Additionally, every showroom listed on our Showroom Locator has at least one Electric Mirror product on display.
After an order is placed, engineering drawings are created by Electric Mirror. They must be approved by a customer, and a deposit received, before the order goes into production.
Customers should plan to have their mirrors shipped at least two weeks before they need it in the United States, and one month before outside the United States.
Typical lead time for Hospitality orders are 10 to 12 weeks. Residential order lead time is six weeks, although we do have some items in stock that can be shipped very quickly.
If your product arrives with shipping damage, there is only a five day window to make a freight claim. You must take photos of the packaging and the damaged product and send to your sales representative or dealer who will work with Electric Mirror on filing a freight claim. You must not install the product before taking photos of the damage. As long as these steps are followed, there is no charge for replacements.
Different products and components have different warranties. Please refer to Electric Mirror’s warranty documentation here.
For small quantity residential sales, all stock Electric Mirror products that have been kept in the original packaging and are in good, undamaged, and saleable condition may be returned to Electric Mirror within 90 days of delivery for a credit, less a 25% restocking fee and the original freight costs. Custom built product sales are final.
Electric Mirror provides installation training, but not actual installation of our products. For Hospitality and Commercial projects we have two Installation Training Programs – the Certified Installation Training Package and the AV Integration Support Package. See them here. The first program provides installation training services for Lighted Mirrors. The second provides AV integration training and is particularly helpful if your purchase included Mirror TVs. For Residential projects please contact the showroom where you purchased your products. They may be able to make a recommendation of an installer.
No, our mirrors can only be mounted in the width and height dimension that is listed.
We recommend at least 1” of clearance between the top of the mirror and the ceiling. This allows enough room to easily install and remove the mirror.
Most of our mirrors can be recessed. We recommend recessing the chassis to a depth that allows ½” between the back of the mirror and the wall. Contact our Sales department for specific dimension requirements.
First check to make sure the plastic piece in the remote battery cover has been removed. You can check to see if the remote is working by looking at the IR light at the end of the remote through a camera phone. Also, make sure the TV is plugged in and there is power coming to the outlet. After this, if the TV still does not come on, call Electric Mirror for further troubleshooting.
