With a great deal of anticipation surrounding it’s opening, the Westin Phoenix Downtown welcomed guests for the first time on March 10, 2011. The luxury hotel occupies eight renovated floors of the Freeport-McMoRan Center in downtown Phoenix with 242 guest rooms, each with a view as well as the most elegant and luxurious design & décor.

Nestled right next to the business and entertainment district, and a short five miles from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the Westin Phoenix Downtown is in the perfect location for the business traveler or tourist. The luxury hotel moved into a neighborhood of high-occupancy hotels with excessively large meeting space with the intention of catering to the individual business traveler and smaller group gatherings. It offers all the luxuries of high-end hotels, without the crowded feeling of the larger convention-style hotels. Add in the Westin touch of heaven, and the hotel is welcoming to burgeoning tourism industry in the Phoenix area as well.

With the availability of the Province Restaurant & Lounge, the Westin Workout space and the 11,000 square-feet of meeting space the Westin Downtown Phoenix is an optimal location for any sort of travel or gathering. The Province Restaurant & Lounge offers various American cuisines, with flavor influences from northern, central and southern America. The 11,000 square-feet of meeting space is highly flexible, and available for any group gathering ranging from corporate meetings to weddings.

Each of the rooms features sleek, yet welcoming décor with high ceilings and ceiling-to-floor windows offering sweeping views of the downtown Phoenix area. With rooms averaging 540 square feet, room to breathe is another luxury that the new hotel offers. Dave Sobek, the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Westin Phoenix Downtown said of the décor, “The hotel features the new Westin Classic guestroom design scheme, inspired by natural elements and featuring neutral color palettes, natural woods and stone. The new design concept brings to life the brand’s philosophy of preserving wellness on the road in three dimensions and evokes a sense of balance.”

The guest experience caters to the desire for relaxation with the elegance of the Westin Heavenly Bath® amenities. Each of the bathrooms in the hotel’s 214 guest rooms and twenty-eight suites offer oversized glass showers, glass tiling, and a Silhouette lighted mirror to illuminate the room. The mirrors are tailored for use in the Westin Heavenly Bath® experience with custom frosting on both sides to increase the feeling of depth. Each mirror adds a luminous finishing touch to the comfort guaranteed within the Westin name.

In addition, with environmental friendliness in mind, the use of the low-maintenance and eco-friendly mirror design adds to the overall good environmental practices that were key in the designing of The Westin Phoenix Downtown.

Business and pleasure don’t need to be two separate trips. Whether you’re just stopping through, or staying for a while, visit the Westin Downtown Phoenix to enjoy comfort and luxury just minutes away from your business or tourist destinations.
