Yotel New York, NYC
The Yotel Brand brings modern technology and outstanding design to Midtown Manhattan. With an onslaught of practical gadgetry, and an emphasis on modern & sleek design, the new hotel invites tech-savvy travelers to come, stay, and play for a while.
Yotel brings its innovative airport hotel design to the urban core in New York City.
When Yotel New York opened its Midtown Manhattan doors in June 2011, the luxury boutique paradigm shifted, and the phrase “standard amenity” was challenged. Yo! Co. founder Simon Woodroffe and Yotel CEO Gerard Green collaborated their genius to create the Yotel brand, then take it from UK airports and into urban New York City. The combination of the ultra-clean, modern design and the use of gadgets and technology galore, creates a luxury environment for the technologically savvy and those fascinated with gadgetry.
The technology is unavoidable with the airport style check-in kiosks, a precision robot (appropriately named “Yobot”) that safely stores luggage, state-of-the-art sound equipment playing custom-created music in various zones throughout the hotel, and hydraulic tables that retract into the floor to create performance space. Design giants Rockwell Group and Softroom Architects coupled forward-thinking technology and outstanding design to create a flexible and efficient, yet vibrant and luxurious public and guest spaces.
The playful color palette with the sleek, modern design invites guests to stay and play a while. Stark whites in the design are contrasted with bold purples, warm wood tones, and beautifully accented with the use of lighting. From the largest outdoor terrace in Manhattan, to the custom designed facade on the front of the building, the lounge, lobby, restaurant, and cabins, every aspect of Yotel is a fantastic mixture of practical technology and unparalleled modern design.
The 669 guest cabin bathrooms feature a perfect marriage between technology and design: the Silhouette™ lighted mirror. Electric Mirror® custom engineered the mirror to fit the design specifications, as well as LEED Certification standards. Each mirror was outfitted with low-wattage bulbs to reduce energy consumption and a diffuser to soften the light output. In addition, each mirror has custom-cut rounded corners to fit the design of the cabins.
Yotel New York offers a sleek & trendy place to stay for the tech-savvy world traveler. Next time you’re in the Big Apple take the time to play at Yotel.
