Position Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner, within all quality parameters. This position will also participate in both the hiring and performance management processes, have experience with Lean principles, KPIs, and Visual management, in a job shop manufacturing and assembly environment, and will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. The Production Manager will encourage, manage, and lead for maximum production flow, while ensuring safety and quality throughout.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshooting utilizing Root Cause Analysis tools such as 5-whys and A3’s
  • Monitoring daily production, utilizing KPi’s to show progress towards daily and monthly targets
  • Setting daily targets with departmental supervision
  • Maintain production and quality control standards
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to obtain maximum production efficiency
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and redirecting work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems
  • Drives step function improvements in productivity, cost reduction, plant output, capacity and waste while continuing to deliver quality products complete and on-time to the customer
  • Evaluates talent of associates and drives actions to address performance issues and/or behavioral concerns
  • Works to enhance customer satisfaction and trust by responding to concerns with a sense of urgency and creating plans to proactively address future issues.
  • Enhances employee morale by driving engagement and establishing an environment of trust and respect

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Managing 4 supervisors

Work Environment:

  • Office 25%
  • Production/Warehouse floor 75%

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, pull or push up to 50 lbs.; anything over 50 lbs. is to be assisted
  • Be on your feet 8-10 hours per day

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • Salary
  • Full time M-Th 05:00-15:30

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field
  • 5 years of progressive manufacturing experience
  • 3 years in plant or operations management
  • 2 years utilizing lean manufacturing techniques in a manufacturing environment

Salary: $105,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
